THE PROFESSIONAL: FORGED IN SAFETY John Pruitt’s leadership is defined by the high-stakes world of industrial infrastructure. As a ticket-carrying Journeyman Lineman and a career Director of Safety, John spent decades on the front lines of the power grid.
​
In that dangerous environment, he observed a critical truth: Safety is not just about compliance; it is about connection. He saw that the crews with the best safety records were not just the ones who followed the rules—they were the ones who possessed a deep sense of brotherhood and purpose. He realized that a company that cultivates the "Whole Person" creates a safer job site than one that merely hires a "Worker."

THE PERSONAL: DEFINED BY PERSPECTIVE John’s philosophy, "Perception Perceives Perspective," was solidified in the most profound way imaginable. In 2007, his family experienced the tragic loss of a child. Navigating that life-altering experience taught John the immeasurable value of time and the critical importance of meaningful communication.

It fundamentally reshaped his view of the world. He realized that we cannot separate our "Work Identity" from our "Human Identity." Being the best version of himself required nurturing both his role as a Safety Director and his role as a father, husband, and community activist.

THE INNOVATION John founded The 3P Initiative to bridge the gap between these two worlds. He combined his rigorous background in Human Systems Integration (Safety) with his passion for community advocacy. The result is a formal framework that allows businesses to quantify the intangible value of their people.

LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY: A DECADE OF RESULTS

THE ORIGIN: HONORING THE TRADE State of Illinois Before founding The 3P Initiative, John successfully advocated for the recognition of the skilled trades, securing an Official Proclamation from Governor J.B. Pritzker and seven municipal Mayors to designate "Lineman Appreciation Day." This established the precedent that the industrial workforce deserves state-level validation.

THE STANDARD: CHAMPIONING THE COMMUNITY State of West Virginia Today, that advocacy has evolved into the "Community Champion Month" Proclamation signed by Governor Patrick Morrisey. This document officially endorses The 3P Initiative’s methodology as the state standard for community engagement.
